I call upon all Americans, not only to display the flag of the United States at their homes on Armed Forces Day, but also to learn about our system of defense.

Each of you who wears our nation's uniform makes an invaluable contribution to the safety, security, and well-being of the United States and of the entire world.

We honor your patriotism, your service, and your sacrifice.

I am pleased to join with all Americans in saluting the men and women of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and the Coast Guard.

I call upon all Americans to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities, including public recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States.

They loved their country and they swore an oath including a willingness to give their lives for their country.

We must remember not only those who died for their service to their country but for how they were loved.

No citizen of this great Nation should ever have to apologize for that.

I urge all Americans to observe this month with appropriate ceremonies and activities.

This is a great day for the American spirit.

They honored our country by becoming five legendary defenders of our freedoms in return.

Together we can make this country stronger and have even more to be thankful for next Thanksgiving.
