Now, more than ever, is the time for courageous leadership.

I know that in this new role she will continue to fight for these and other important causes.

I am grateful that she has agreed to take on one more assignment.

Tonight I want to leave you with three thoughts about our future.

I will never hold a position higher or a covenant more sacred than that of President of the United States.

We must remember that America cannot lead in the world unless here at home we weave the threads of our coat of many colors into the fabric of one America.

I am profoundly grateful to you for twice giving me the honor to serve.

I applaud the leadership and hard work of Energy Secretary Bill Richardson and his staff for bringing these consumer savings and environmental benefits to the American public.

Everything that I have been able to do as President is, in no small measure, a result of the life I lived and the jobs I had in Arkansas.

I want to leave you with this one thought.

I'm extraordinarily grateful for all the progress we've made together these last 8 years building the strongest economy in a generation.

I will leave more optimistic than I entered.

It's not about talking; it's about doing the right thing.

First, I would like to be remembered for a serious commitment to pushing America forward.

The thing that really matters about this country is not who the President is; it's what kind of people we are.

I think that, if that's the test, that we pass.

He was a supremely decent man, and his memory will serve as an inspiration to us all.
