I think the number one domestic concern of the United States is going to be, in the 1960's, the question of jobs, jobs for a tidal wave of men and women who are going to be hitting our labor market in the next 5 years.

This administration intends to press ahead with Government economy, but we also have to find in the private economy jobs for these people who are willing.

One, I am concerned, and if elected President will take action to stimulate the economic growth of the United States in order to find jobs for our people and resources for national action.

In our Democratic platform we have also taken note of unfair discriminations under which some of our people suffer, in securing access to housing, jobs, education and other community opportunities.

What we are trying to do is open the channels of credit so as to dissipate fear and apprehension in the minds of the bankers and the public and businessmen, and thereby restore the people to their normal jobs.

The real victory is to restore men to employment through their regular jobs.
