That is not the kind of America I want for the 21st century.

Every time a decision is called upon to be made in this Nation's Capital or in your community, ask yourself what's it going to look like in 20 years?

I believe the best days of this country lie before us.

The 21st century is ours if we will simply be true to our values and follow our vision.

I will veto, if I have to, any attempt to mortgage your future.

But we all know that the future is not free of difficulties.

Today's despair breeds tomorrow's conflicts.

There can be light at the end of the tunnel.

We must create the future consistent with our values, not based on what we think is popular in the moment.

America should invest in the future, not squander the present.

We must do something to make their future less violent.

These programs are not bureaucratic programs; they relate to the future of our children.

This is a good program, and I think we'll be around next year to celebrate the second anniversary.

We're just making an investment in America's future.

The generation of young people in school today deserves our Nation's pledge to help them get on the right course and make the most of their lives.

We have to face the future together, because we're going to live in a global society.
