We understand the difficult position that many now face which is why I am pleased to be able to confirm up to £3 million for the Highland Council to support affected businesses directly.

This will provide immediate relief for impacted businesses but we will continue to work closely with the Highland Council, HIE and Cairngorms National Park Authority on what further support may be required for the area in the longer term.

If there's examples in other places in the world, we should look at that as an opportunity.

This is an early-stage exercise and the study will focus on understanding the practical, technical and commercial considerations involved.

If we can secure preclearance in Scotland – because I would imagine there's other airports that would be very interested in that – I think that would be a really good thing, for the economy, for tourism.

You'd love to be able to do absolutely everything, but you have to prioritise. That's what we're going to be doing.

When you're being asked by the First Minister of Scotland to do something, I think you have that intrinsic desire to say yes.

If I recall correctly, I reckon that’s about one-third of the fleet will have been renewed. That's a huge investment.

I want to see Ferguson Marine succeed, and that requires continued investment, modernisation, support for the yard, and delivery of contracts.

It may well materialise that that's exactly what we choose to do.

I want that to happen as quickly as possible.

I am pleased to confirm this funding for PSO air services from Wick, providing important connectivity for businesses and communities across Caithness.

The Scottish Government fully recognises the economic and social importance of rural connectivity in Scotland and this reaffirms our continuing support for air services from Wick, including through our subsidy of Wick John O’Groats Airport.

I want to see [HIAL] and Loganair work collaboratively to ensure that the services can be sustained given their value to local communities and business.

Our full focus is on delivering the remaining vessels currently under construction at the Cemre yard, to improve the long-term resilience and reliability of ferry services.

We lost Aberdeen South to the Tories in 2017, and we won it back two years later. I’ve no doubt that we can do so again. If we get things right.

A tough night in Aberdeen that some will need to reflect on, quite heavily.

I did not think it was 'too much to ask' that islanders be able to go about their daily lives.

I'm as convinced as I possibly can be. And you know I take that from the fact that the party has been wrestling with this for a few years.

I’m livid about that. I think party members who’ve grafted in their jobs and in their life and have given the little that they had to the party because they believe in something will rightly be upset and angry as well about his behaviours.

I think the public here in Scotland would take a dim view of politicians in Westminster seeking to interfere in the internal SNP matters in this regard.

Just as the lesson we've learned post 9/11 is you can't do this piecemeal. You have to have it as a comprehensive approach.
