Violent mobs targeting people because of the colour of their skin have no place in our city and do not reflect Glasgow or its values.

People have been targeted with harassment and violence on racial grounds, and organisations such as schools, housing associations and small businesses have been targeted for nothing more than teaching languages.

The Programme for Government must be the moment that changes. We need clear commitments and a plan to end Scotland’s complicity in the systemic abuse of Palestinians.

The far right is growing in confidence and becoming increasingly emboldened. That is why we are seeing such dangerous escalation.
