We must protect Scotland from a potential power-grab from Westminster.

It is an affront to democracy to continue to deny Scotland’s right to decide our own future.

We must come together as a Yes movement to discuss the next steps towards becoming a normal country.

I ask you to urgently give a clear commitment that a full public consultation will take place as part of the development of the national guidance.

At a time when we must be maximising our efforts to decarbonise our heating and transport systems, this scale of increased demand for Scotland’s renewable electricity is incompatible with achieving Scotland’s net zero targets.

I urge the First Minister to launch a public consultation on this as soon as possible.

Communities across Scotland must be involved in the creation of national planning guidance for AI hyperscale data centres.

It is imperative that the Scottish Government gets this right, and doesn’t leave communities behind while bending to the whim of well-funded developers who are seeking to make a profit from Scotland’s resources.

The expansion to Strathclyde is a major step forward, but it must not become an excuse for further delay elsewhere.

But we cannot stop here. People across Scotland should not have to pay more for their bus simply because of where they live.

We are one year on from Parliament’s historic vote, and the Scottish Government has failed to turn words into action.

Allowing the data centre industry to grab Scotland’s natural resources for their own benefit would be yet another example.

If hundreds of megawatts of renewable electricity are diverted from homes to hyperscale data centres, it has the very real potential to destabilise our power grid, undoing the work we’ve achieved towards net-zero.

No company fuelling Putin’s war machine should be allowed to profit in Scotland or anywhere else in Europe.

We cannot have a boycott in name only. Parliament did not vote for empty gestures. One year on, the Scottish Government needs to deliver.

Now that they are deciding what the next regeneration of Doctor Who will look like, there could not be a better time for Glasgow to make our case to be the new home of the Doctor.
