This has meant that the people of Scotland have not fully benefitted from the wealth generated by our vast energy resources.

It is vital that the economic benefits of our energy are felt here in Scotland and used to bring energy bills down, rather than flowing to the Treasury to plug more short term spending gaps.

This trade mission to Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai will support Scottish businesses to build connections and seize opportunities that could support jobs and prosperity in all parts of Scotland.

We must strengthen our economic and cultural ties with India for the benefit of jobs, investment and growth in every part of the country.
