Scotland as a society should have been readier for events like we’ve seen over recent days.

There must be consequences when elected representatives use their platforms to spread disinformation and encourage the kind of reckless and racist behaviour that puts communities at risk.

It is time to pause hyperscale data centre applications until councils have clear guidance, communities have certainty, and Scotland has a coherent national strategy to deal with them instead of a corporate free-for-all.
