If someone constantly reports, even when you say otherwise, that you’re leaving the race the next day, you’re leaving the race the next day, you lose your funders and your donors.

Extremism is growing in our politics.

It’s been an honor to be your mayor.

On November 4th, we are going to turn the page on the politics of big money and small ideas and deliver a government every New Yorker can be proud of.

But trust me when I tell you: what we’ve started will continue to reach every community in this city.

I warn of the insidious forces out to use local government to advance divisive agendas with little regard for how it hurts everyday New Yorkers.

Despite all we’ve achieved, I cannot continue my re-election campaign.

We face destructive extremist forces that would devastate our city through incompetence or ignorance, but it is not too late to stop them.

Eric Adams has served courageously and authentically for decades as a Member of the NYPD, the New York State Senate, in Brooklyn Borough Hall and as our 110th Mayor.

I commend Mayor Adams for putting the city first.

Whatever differences we may have, Eric Adams’ story is undeniably one of resilience — a testament to the spirit of this city.

Political anger is turning into political violence.

It’s important we try to consolidate support against Mamdani to stop his destructive and radical socialist takeover that will only make our city less safe, less affordable and less livable.

We have connected more New Yorkers to mental health services and supportive housing. We’ve driven down crime in our subways and gotten illegal guns off the streets.

Although this is the end of my reelection campaign, it is not the end of my public service.

Major change is welcome and necessary, but beware of those who claim the answer to destroy the very system we built together over generations.
