“I rise to indicate my full support for the passage of this legislation, H.R. 3104, which requires the President to establish separate campaign medals for service members who participate in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom. My good friend and colleague, Congressman Vic Snyder of Arkansas, has worked tirelessly to pass this measure in the House. Congressman Snyder is a man of character and conviction, and he has worked to develop a bill that rightly recognizes the service of our men and women in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. This bill truly is a credit to his leadership and his ability, and once again he is demonstrating his effectiveness in the Congress. I am a cosponsor of S. 2262, the Senate companion measure offered by Senator Bingaman, who has also shown great leadership on this issue. I want to acknowledge that and thank him for championing this measure in this distinguished body.”
