As the lead sponsor of this particular amendment, it does not hold any water for me because, as was reported in the papers, I have had individuals work for me who profess to the fact that they are homosexual, and despite that, I recognize publicly that they have done a great job in my office. I have even presented an award to one of those individuals so he would have a scholarship to go to school and further his education. So anybody who tries to make a case as far as this individual is concerned of animus in their debate, somehow there is animosity, it will not hold water. In fact, what this issue is about, No. 1, is any individual who wants to profess a lifestyle that incorporates same-sex marriage, that is their personal decision, but the debate is they simply do not have a right to change the definition of marriage, and that is what this debate is all about.
