When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We`re proud of him. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn`t have had all these problems over all these years either.

But, unfortunately, the wheels have come off in the Finance Committee, in the House, in trying to find a way to come together in a bipartisan, nonpartisan way.

First of all, there's going to be an election and the numbers will be different come this fall. And you're going to need leadership from the President and from the leaders in the Congress.
