Yesterday's terrorist attack was a crime against the American people and it was a crime against humanity. Calling this attack an act of war does not begin to accurately describe this barbaric attack. Today, we stand with our President, the men and women of law enforcement, and with our Armed Forces as we dedicate our Nation to achieving swift and appropriate justice for the terrorists responsible for this act. Today, we have been inspired by the courage of Americans risking their lives to rescue and heal their neighbors. Today, we are comforted by America's prayers for the injured and grieving. And, today, from the ashes of this horrific act, we as Americans reaffirm our highest beliefs in freedom, democracy and justice. On behalf of the people of Minnesota's Fourth District, our hearts and prayers are with the victims of this terrible crime.
