This resolution condemns the extremist, racist, and xenophobic statements and positions of leaders of the FPO party of Austria and expresses profound regret and dismay that the FPO will play a major role in the new government of Austria. It is most appropriate for the House of Representatives to express our serious concern about the participation of such a political party in the government of Austria. Austria has a difficult background, and has had problems dealing with its legacy during World War II. Unlike Germany, Austria never underwent the ``de-Nazification'' process that took place in Germany after the war.
