Ted Stevens: “We are at war and this transformation to our future force is continuing.”

Thanks to the foresight of Senator Ted Stevens and his congressional colleagues in establishing the North Pacific Research Board in 1997.

The NALEMP annual appropriation was first drafted in 1993 by Senator Ted Stevens and Senator Daniel Inouye.

[t]he waste in that area was as great as the total catch of all the major fisheries off our shores. These 60 factory trawlers threw overboard--dead and unused--about one out of every four fish they caught.

I hope we will get some innovative suggestions for the technology in the future.
