The Middle East is a safer place when the United States is clear and consistent in its intentions.

It is important both as a symbol of a national commitment to deal with this problem, but it is also important to rebalance a little bit this relationship between the Congress and the President.

I think there is a huge opportunity for Congress on a bipartisan basis to lead this debate.

We need to shame him for it. And then, hopefully, the Europeans will show in their response that they are willing to stand up to it.
