I argue positions before courts on behalf of clients without regard to my personal views, and that is the same philosophy I would take to the bench.

To me, there may be a tendency on the part of some quarters to view fidelity and appreciation for the rule of law as not an end in itself and as bespeaking a lack of passion about the law.
