Shaun Donovan: “I believe the President's budget shows a responsible path forward for the Nation.”

I would really describe [sequestration], in many cases, as mindless austerity, cutting just simply straight across the budget without reflecting, really, which are the critical investments.

We cannot afford a return to mindless austerity.

We all understand the impact the foreclosure crisis has had on homeowners, but the crisis hurt communities, too.

I would never believe that the private sector, left to its own devices, is the best possible solution. I am in Government because of the role of Government in setting rules and working in partnership with the private sector.
