We have a goal to engage by the end of this term a million hours of volunteer service on public lands--that is triple where we are right now--and a goal to create 100,000 jobs over 4 years on public lands through working collaboratively…

This budget recognizes the importance of Interior's programs to the overall strength of the Nation's economy.

I also strongly support the President's proposal to fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund and provide a permanent mandatory funding stream beginning next year.
