The federal government had a lot of responsibility for the creation of the mess in New Orleans.
Federal bureaucracies as a whole don't do a very good job, but FEMA has the worst reputation of almost any of them.
If you want efficiency, why don't we look at how thing were handled before we had FEMA.

They would have been better off in Katrina if they would have just written a check to everybody and not gotten involved in all the mess that they did.
We're bankrupt and we can't continue spending. And even these temporary proposals won't address the subject, that we will default. We won't default by not paying the bills. We will default by more inflation. And that is a serious problem.
Well, it raises the debt limit. And I've made too many promises I wouldn't raise the debt limit. I've never voted for the Appropriation Bill and I've been worried about our spending for many, many years if not decades.
