I am humbled today not only by the confidence placed in me by the President of the United States and the support of our veterans service organizations.

Well, Senator, I will say--and I say it respectfully--I welcome a scrutiny of my entire record.

You never put your uniform away. You have to get well to remind your countrymen every day that freedom is never free.

I do not care who gets credit. I do not care what went on before. We have got 20 veterans who are dying.
