Our responsibility as citizens, both as a State governor in my case and you as a Congressman, is to secure this country.

If we are going to be a country that respects the rule of law, and if we are ever going to have a conversation about immigration reform... it will never happen until you secure the border.

The question is this: Do we, as the United States of America, believe in our rule of law, and do we believe that we need to have a secure border between the United States and Mexico?

Rick Perry, he's always said he's pro life except in cases of rape, incest or the health of the mother. But he just told an Iowa crowd this evening he now opposes abortion in all those cases as well.

What we're seeing from the left, of which I would suggest to you that President Obama is a member of the left, and substantial left-of-center beliefs, that you can't even have a Christmas party.

The holidays are a special time of year to pause and take stock of the many blessings we enjoy. Not just as human beings, but as Americans, Texans. Of all those blessings, I offer that the most precious is our freedom.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Christian. But you don't need to be in the pew every Sunday to know that there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military, but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas…
