Ray Nagin: “This commitment, this action today, says, come home to New Orleans.”

Does he really think God is punishing America with hurricanes? That's what he said this week, from here in the 'chocolate city.'

And as we think about rebuilding New Orleans, sure God is mad at America. He's sending hurricane after hurricane after hurricane. And it's destroying and putting stress on this country.

I want America to understand, the city of New Orleans took on so much water, that 80 percent of it's flooded. And we still have a tremendous amount of work to do. And we need tremendous amount of more help from the federal government.

I want to thank all the wonderful people of the city of New Orleans for this encouragement, for this victory, for this time for us to set the stage for our recovery.
