Of course we will defend Taiwan with the United States. That is a powerful statement for a country to make when you are talking about armed conflict with the PRC over Taiwan.

The pivotal rebalance is not about looking for a glorious enemy or some noble foe.

We don't need sea supremacy or total control. We need to recognize that China has legitimate security interests, right?

First and foremost, the United States must develop and deploy the naval, air, space, and cyber technologies required to ensure East Asia remains a maritime system.
