I believe the real reason for anxiety bordering on fear is not what our polls tell us. I do not believe it is crime, and I do not believe it is jobs, although I do believe all of these are very important. But I believe the people in this country and in my State are frightened because something is happening to the character of our country and they see it as it is directly reflected in the character of our people. As adults, we are frightened to death because we see the lack of character among our young people. We are fearful that the boat of values or character is just adrift without a rudder.
