I wish the president hadn't thrown this in the lap of Congress, it's sort of looking for help for his own lack of leadership, but the fact is, if the Congress turns down the president now, it's not only a blow to President Obama, I think it's a blow to the presidency, it's a blow to American credibility in an important part of the world.

The problem is not that the President has done too much, however, but that he's done too little to achieve the goal of removing Gadhafi from power. The United States should be leading this effort, not trailing behind our adversaries.
The goal is to enable Syrians to fight for their country so that we aren't stuck with a problem later on.
I'm saying, talk to the opposition. Find out what they need. If the requests are reasonable, fill them.
