If there are leaders who believe that certain communities are not viable, say that. Don't let these communities and these people waste their time talking about rebuilding and coming back home. That would be extremely unfair.

Any amount of crime is too much. But we have a history to deal with and we need to make sure that people know that we're doing whatever it takes to make the city safe for them to come back.

There's nothing too extreme to protect an American citizen's life.

It's very important to deal with this now.

We're still on the battlefield in New Orleans. We're still on the battlefield in this region.

Our dead should not be behind rubble and underneath rubble.

There ought to be a plan. Look, the best thing we can come up with now, you're right, is a public plan.

The one thing everybody around this nation knows is that people want some closure from this.

How many more storms do the people of Louisiana have to go through? How much more sorrow do these families have to bear?

I guess we had no value during life when we waited on the roof and we waited for food and water. And I guess there's just no closure in death for many of our family members and for many of our families.

At least the money that has been allocated for DNA testing could identify our loved ones and our families.

Why would our U.S. Congress not give us the resources we need to protect us?
