The text of the amendment is as follows: At the appropriate place in subtitle C of title XII, insert the following: SEC. __. PROHIBITION ON ONGOING UNITED STATES PRESENCE IN SYRIA. None of the funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act or otherwise made available to the Department of Defense may be used to maintain a United States military presence inside Syria after the date that is 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, unless there is enacted specific statutory authorization for such military presence in accordance with the requirements of the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1541 et seq.).
