it pains me to hear the characterization of balancing the budget on the backs of our service men and women.

As we look at our strategies for the future I think we have got to pay more and particular attention to energy as an instrument of national power, and I think that has to be factored in to the equation here.

An energy independent and net exporter of energy as a nation has the potential to change the security environment around the world.
