Kirstjen Nielsen: “We do not have a policy of separating families at the border. Period.”

This is a legitimate National emergency, this is a twin crisis, and we can do better as a country.

There is nothing humane about a system that contemplates what we see today, that contemplates 60,000 children coming across the border unaccompanied...

Families need to be put together, children should never be put in this situation.

It is one child who dies, it is one woman who is raped, because this system doesn't need to work that way.
