I think there is a deeper way in which this has to be addressed, and that is that religious freedom must become a key priority of American foreign policy.

Religious freedom is a pivotal human right affirmed by our Nation and international treaties and obligations.

As the daughter of Holocaust survivors I can testify as to how surreal it is for a people to have to defend themselves in this day and age not only against hateful attitudes and behaviors, but also against those who try to dissuade others…

This is going to be part of our official policy that the promotion of human rights should be a central and principal goal of American foreign policy.
