I would appreciate it if the Senator from California would. I certainly assure the Senator that at some point, if we have to vote on it, we will vote on it. Right now there appears to be an objection going forward.

the policies behind getting these numbers under control are extremely difficult politically, because they involve very tough decisions.
In the end, you have to pay the debt ceiling because otherwise the government can't function, and the effect of that would be catastrophic.
That is actually why I was so encouraged by the President putting 'change CPI' on the table.
