Is it not true that the resolution, as brought forth by the majority leader, is consistent with all the resolutions that have been brought forward in the last 10 Congresses relative to the language in that resolution specifically applying only to the membership of the committee?

In the end, you have to pay the debt ceiling because otherwise the government can't function, and the effect of that would be catastrophic.
Why would we do it? Because it makes no sense, from the standpoint of policy.
