I have a preamble to my question. I heard my colleague refer to the opposition to Miguel Estrada as imposing an intellectual glass ceiling for Hispanics who are not liberals. We hear a lot about diversity on the courts. Yet some people seem intent on blocking this nominee for having a diversity of opinion as compared to what those on the left want. Don't you agree that an important kind of diversity is the diversity of ideas, and isn't that exactly what the opponents of Mr. Estrada and his confirmation are trying to prevent-- diverse ideas from a Hispanic nominee?
