I was one of the three freshmen appointed to the Committee on Ways and Means, because our leadership had confidence in this freshman class, actually the first Republican freshmen appointed since George Bush back in 1967. And I think that the freshmen have done well on the committee. My two colleagues, Jon Christensen and Phil English, I think they have performed in an outstanding manner on the Committee on Ways and Means. As a representative of the tax writing committee, which is the primary responsibility for the Committee on Ways and Means, let me enlighten all of you to not only some of the things that we brought up in the part of the Contract With America, but actually we have been talking about, actually items that have been signed into law. That is the bottom line. It is great to debate all these items, but it only affects people's lives once you can get them into law.
