Jean-Bertrand Aristide: “I am still the leader of Haiti and vow I'll return there one day.”

Haiti's president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, is defiant. He rejected the Bush administration's suggestion to hold early elections in an effort to diffuse the crisis.

The terrorists are here, but not better armed than you. You have the constitution as your compass, and democratic values as your weapons.

Of course not, because no one should force an elected president to move in order to avoid bloodshed.

I think the best way for the United States to demonstrate it's mature is to send additional police, international police troops to increase the number of those international police already in Haiti, and helping us to disarm the terrorists…
