I wake up in the morning thinking about how to protect this country, and I go to bed at night thinking about how to protect this country.

we are a Nation of laws and not a Nation of men or women, a Nation of laws.

We need to continue to remind them that past is prologue to the future.

We will learn many lessons from this attack, just as we have from past instances of terrorism and violent extremism.
