I Mr. President, thank the chairman for his excellent work on the fiscal year 1998 energy and water appropriations measure. Senator Domenici clearly understands the importance of renewable energy to the future of this Nation. I wish to commend him for his dedication to the development of solar, wind, biomass, and other technologies that are vital to our Nation's energy interests. I know many of my colleagues join me in thanking him for his leadership in this area. I would merely like to clarify a couple of the provisions regarding renewable energy in the energy and water appropriations bill.
