Despite political headwinds, our economy has been steadily growing.

The real issue is we must keep all of our obligations.

I have made clear that it is an extraordinarily high priority, my highest priority to restore confidence in the IRS.

The strength of our financial system ultimately depends on the strength of our economy.

If you are in default, you are in default. And prioritization doesn't solve that problem. You need to extend the debt limit.

Let us not get into a world where we start having the White House jump in for the administration of our tax system, because that will be a cure well worse than the disease.
