Surprisingly, the Defense Logistics Agency, DLA, has still not chosen to replenish an adequate was reserve of MREs. In additions, DLA has cut MRE production despite the fact that our troops in Iraq are still consuming MREs at an unprecedented rate. Would the chairman consider this matter in conference and have the managers address it if the committee finds the problem to be as grave as it would appear?
