Data theft still remains a very large burden for the American consumer that must be addressed by legislative action from this committee.

Unfortunately the discussion draft before us today falls short of the commitment needed to ensure that the personal information of hard working Americans are kept safe.

We should take swift action to pass it in this Congress.
