Edolphus Towns: “The private sector can, and must, safeguard personal information.”

Unfortunately the discussion draft before us today falls short of the commitment needed to ensure that the personal information of hard working Americans are kept safe.

When it comes to data security, prevention is the best medicine and certainly the cheapest.

I am a strong supporter of President Obama's goal of improving the way this country uses its spectrum and freeing up more for mobile broadband and a national public safety network.

We should take swift action to pass it in this Congress.
