David Beasley: “Had it not been for the United States, the taxpayers of this country, we would have had mass famine.”

We have got to make certain that we put the fire out before the entire world is on fire.

This is as urgent and morally necessary as sending tanks to Ukraine.

Whether this precarious situation turns into a true global famine depends largely on what the United States, European Union, China and other large and wealthy nations do now.

I do believe, if we can end these conflicts, we can end world hunger.
