“I am here to report on our fifth annual Congressional basketball game last night, a hard fought contest against the American League of Lobbyists. I am happy to report that the Members in the House were winners for the third time in a row. We have won four out of five games. The score was 49 to 48 in overtime. However, Mr. Speaker, I want to report that the game last night broke all records and raised over $40,000 for Horton's Kids, bringing the grand total to over $120,000 over the 5 years of the tournament. I want to thank the American League of Lobbyists and Mr. Paul Miller, who put an awful lot of time into the event, George Washington University for our use of their facilities. Our Congressional pages attended last evening as well. I want to thank all the Members who might be a little bit sore getting to the floor this morning, but thank them for their efforts for a great cause.”
