I want to point out that this is a clean extension. It is what is in current law. There are no policy or program changes, and this does not continue any stimulus funding. This extension, coupled with the CR, is going to reduce spending by about a billion dollars. We are going to make a reduction in transit new starts by over $400 million, discontinue highway appropriation earmarks by $900 million, eliminate unauthorized transit programs by over $200 million, and unauthorized TIGER grants by $600 million. So there are some significant reductions; and, again, this current extension has to be passed by Friday. If we don't move this forward, we will feel this throughout the economy, throughout this Nation.
