I thank the gentleman. I rise in support of H.R. 1765 so that we can stop this needless pain on the American traveling public and our economy. The administration and the FAA have refused for months to provide us with a plan to work with the airline industry in order to figure out how this could be implemented without all of this pain to the traveling public and to our economy. I'd like to remind my colleagues that this industry provides $1 trillion to our economy, so it's extremely important to the hardworking men and women of America that our airlines and our folks are getting where they need to be on time and without delay. This is very, very damaging to the economy. Again, I believe this has been mismanaged, and I believe that this bill will force the administration to stop these needless furloughs so that we can continue making sure that the airline industry is functioning in order to keep our economy growing stronger and to allay the safety concerns of the traveling public.
