tonight I rise to discuss the issue of education in America and the topic more specifically is around education tax credits, a proposal which has been circulating through some of the back rooms in Congress so far. We have been talking about this publicly for a long time and many States know quite a lot about this. We have been working to construct a bill which is almost ready for introduction. We are dealing with some of the final discussions with the committee of jurisdiction in that legislation. If we have Members interested in the topic of education tax credits and would like to participate, I would like to invite my colleagues to join me. Education tax credits are probably the most exciting innovation with respect to education that we will have a chance to consider this year in Congress. First, perhaps, I would explain a little bit of the history of how we got to the point of putting a pretty serious education school choice initiative to the point where we will be bringing it to the floor and considering it in Congress.
