This is my first hearing as chairman of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee.

Though the NAHASDA has worked well, it is only now getting off the ground, and I believe its best days lie ahead.

Is that what you would consider a major weakness, that it has not been run like a business?

I think the people that wrote the revision of hours of service neither know the significance of the trucking industry in America or the precarious position they are in.
