The changes taking place across the region carry the promise of a more democratic political order that will benefit the region and the United States in the long term.
Certainly our European allies, our Gulf allies, and Turkey do see that. They are absolutely determined that he will not remain in power.
There is no military solution, and the international community cannot afford a continuation of the status quo.
I don't see any real alternative to U.S. policy except to push ahead on these objectives.
